She has also trained in Art Therapy, Jungian Sand tray Therapy, Gestalt therapy and Child Psychotherapy. She has extensive experience of working with people from all walks of life on the following issues, Depression, Anxiety, Addiction, Shame, Trauma, Relationship Difficulties, Parenting Issues, Work Related Stress, Grief & Loss. Ciara is accredited with the Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy and practices in accordance with their code of ethics.
I believe we hold the answers to our struggles within ourselves. When we are part of a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship we can develop the insight and awareness to identify what is causing us distress or holding us back in our lives. With this awareness we can choose to manage difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours differently thereby giving us a greater sense of agency over our lives and our relationships.
My predominant way of working is through talk therapy however if clients are drawn to more creative ways of working, I use art, imagery and symbolism as a gateway to the unconscious and to give voice to the silenced parts of the self.
Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions or need more information, I look forward to hearing from you. Ciara.
