Lisa Benson MIACP is a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She holds a Diploma and BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy which involved four years of comprehensive training. Lisa further pursued her education by attending a two-year Master of Arts Degree (MA) program in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) . Additionally, she possesses a master's Level 8 certificate in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MBCT), showcasing her commitment to expanding her knowledge and skills.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, Lisa adopts a multifaceted approach, drawing primarily from humanistic & cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) modalities. She tailors her therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs and presenting issues of her clients. Lisa is well-versed in various therapeutic modalities, including Existential, Acceptance & Commitment therapy (ACT), Reality Therapy/Choice Theory (RT/CT), and Dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT). This diverse range of approaches allows Lisa to adapt her treatment methods to best suit her clients' requirements.

With extensive clinical experience, Lisa specializes in implementing CBT as she recognizes its effectiveness in addressing numerous presenting issues. Her areas of expertise include chronic pain, tourette syndrome, burning mouth syndrome(BMS), endometriosis, surgical trauma, women's issues,, workplace bullying, addiction, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, family estrangement, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (SAD), depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), anger, loss, terminal illness, and grief.
